Ruth Prawer Jhabvala is a novelist of unequalled insight, grace and emotional power. Born in Germany and educated in London, Jhabvala married an Indian architect Jhabvala and lived in India for twenty four years from 1951 upto 1975. Dr. Sumita Ashri (b.1978) is Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences, M.M. University, Mullana (Ambala). After her Post-graduation in English from Kurukshetra University, she completed her Ph. D. from Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar. She has made an extensive and intensive research in the domain of Indian English Novel with particular reference to the fiction of Ruth Prawer Jhabvala. Besides, she has travelled to different parts of the globe visiting counties like Singapore, China, Europe and South Africa. Her contribution to the field of Literature comprises a number of papers and articles presented in various seminars, both at the National and International levels, plus a number of articles like Eco-Feminism: A Study of Anita Nair; Indian English Drama, Pattern of Patriarchy: A Study of Mahesh Dattani; and Bengal Renaissance: A of the poetry pf Michael Madhusudan Dutt etc. published in the reputed journals like RJPSS (an International journal), IJOLL, Notions and The Commonwealth Review etc. Presently she is engaged in a venture on A Postcolonial Study of the Novels of Anita Nair.0
