The information revolution was begun due to information explosion, information, and communication technology, globalization and liberalization policies. As such, now each subject discipline is depending on other for its development. Hence, it is not sufficient for research scholars, teachers, social thinkers and students, if they study only an individual subject. It is essential for all these specialists to study all those subjects, which have impact on their own subjects. Hence, there is need to study social sciences as a whole. The present volume is a useful in bringing out the developments in social sciences, which are the outcomes of the social scientists, who are specialists in different subject disciplines. The present book revealed the social problems and developments related to the womens studies, psychology, library and information science, information and communication technology, labour, backward classes including SC/STs, tribes, law, etc. Overall the book is useful for the social scientists, teachers and students of different subjects classified under the group of social sciences to know the developments in particular and the society in general.

Dr. Atik-ur-rahaman S.M. is from Gulbarga and completed his MSW from Gulbarga University and also has been awarded with PhD from Gulbarga University in 2010. At present he is working as Vice-Principal in Inamdar College of MSW, Gulbarga. His interest in Human Resource Management encouraged him to complete Master in Human Resource Management from Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar. His areas of interest are Human Resource Management, Labour Welfare, Rural Development and Research Methodology. He published 15 papers in leading international and national research journals and presented 04 papers in National and International Conferences. Recently one edited book "Research in Social Sciences" was published.

Dr. Praveenkumar Kumbargoudar is from Saundatti (Belgaum District) and completed B.Com and MLISc from Karnataka University, Dharwad. Working as Assistant Librarian (Sr) in Gulbarga University since 1999. Also completed M.Com from Karnataka University in 2003 and Ph D in Library and Information Science from Kuvempu University, Shimoga in 2008. As a curious Library and Information specialist, presented and published about 52 research papers in International level Conferences, National Conferences and Research Journals. His areas of interest are Information and Communication Technology, Research Methods and Management. He is also listed in the International Biography "Contemporary Who's Who" in 2003-04. Recently one edited book "Research in Social Sciences" was published.0
