Argumento de Tancar la Terra: Pràctiques de Propietat I Dinàmiques Socials (catalunya, 1850-1910)
During the nineteenth century, a process of land closures that had been initiated earlier and which, despite the different legal frameworks, sought the effective prohibition of all types of collective uses (pasture, firewood, hunting, fishing Or circulation on roads) on privately owned land. The book aims to study this process of closing farms and social construction of rural property in Catalonia during the second half of the nineteenth century. Beyond the laws of the new liberal state, which protected and consecrated the lands of private domain, the strategies of the owners are analyzed to defend and to consolidate their property rights through the discourses and social uses of the information. We also study the different typologies of rural day care and the different forms of repression that were used to punish the numerous social resistance. The main source for assessing the scope of agrarian individualism is the notices of land closure - quota and acotament - published in the official bulletins of the four Catalan provinces. The territorial distribution of the advertisements indicates the Catalonia of the cortijos, especially the northeast, as the zone where this phenomenon occurred with greater intensity.\n0
