Argumento de Route Sagnier Architect Barcelona 1858-1931
The aim of publishing this book is to recover the name of the architect Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia (Barcelona, 1858-1931) for the history of Catalan architecture in general, and that of Barcelona in particular. Sagnier is, almost certainly, the architect who has built the most in Barcelona, especially in the city’s Eixample district. Furthermore he vas the architect who designed some of the city’s most important and recognisable public buildings, amongst them the Customs House, the Law Courts and the church on the summit of Tibidabo. Now, when Barcelona is becoming the city of the architects, is an ideal moment to bring Sagnier’s work into de limelight so that it may be acknowledged and recognised, not only by those who live in the city, but also by those who visit it, drawn by its architecture.0
