Discovered selling his award-wining pies from his stall at Whitecross Market in London, Andy Bates is the host of the Tv series Street Feasts on Food Network UK.
Known for his hearty, traditional British street food, Andy started workin in kitchens at 14 (before getting the chance at 17 to work in a Michelin-starred restaurant), Andy went on to study at a catering college in Canterbury. He then headed to France to hone his skills in French cuisine.
His company, Eat My Pies, which won the Best Pie Award at the British Food Awards in 2010, produces classic Scotch eggs, pies and tarts which are sold on his stand at Whitecross street market in London. The idea was born from his obsession with British food and ability to combine simple, high quality and tasty ingredients with an intimate understanding of modern British tastes.
